Violins from around the world

Episode 2 on The Many Flavours of Music, takes you on a musical journey that showcases the violin as played in different musical traditions.  Dr Andrew Alter, from Macquarie University, is your guide for the evening.

During the course of the program you will hear the violin in a variety of musical contexts from Celtic traditions, Romanian Gypsies, the Carnatic style of South India and recent collaborations that blend the violin into the music of Indonesian and Africa.
